Anita Murray

Anita is a highly experienced English teacher and tutor, with over 13 years of experience in this field. She also worked previously for a number of years as a PGCE mentor. Anita left mainstream education in 2017, following her own personal beliefs on how students learn. She has continued as a tutor since then.

Anita believes that Literacy is fundamental to raising a student’s esteem, as it allows them to access the world around them and communicate with it effectively. Her experience has taught her that students are far more engaged when given the space to discuss an idea, rather than be talked at. Anita feels that learning is a very social act and literacy (either reinforcing or correcting misunderstandings) often stems from conversation, particularly when learning new ideas and concepts.

Anita is a strong advocate for the Self Managed Learning approach, as it places the learner at the forefront of everything that we do.
